Dewpoint Cooling

The most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly way of cooling

The ICECUBE uses dewpoint cooling. Dewpoint cooling is cooling by the evaporation of water in a heat exchanger. It is the most advanced form of what is called indirect evaporative cooling. Dewpoint cooling consumes only a fraction of the energy of a traditional air conditioner, because the energy for cooling comes from the evaporation of water. Water is a natural and harmless refrigerant. Therefore, it does not have a negative contribution to climate change. Another advantage of dewpoint cooling is that it cools more strongly when the air gets hotter. It is therefore a perfect protection against heatwaves. All aspects are explained in more detail in our Dew point cooling brochure. The topic is also covered under frequently asked questions.
